Hi all:

Does anyone have a sure-fire method of returning the icons used by the system?

I'm trying to build a custom Open/Save Dialog.

This is how I'm using the shell import. It does return icons, just not the right ones.

Code:
<DllImport("Shell32.dll")> _
        Private Shared Function SHGetFileInfo( _
        ByVal pszPath As String, _
        ByVal dwFileAttributes As System.UInt32, _
        ByRef psfi As SHFILEINFO, _
        ByVal cbFileInfo As System.UInt32, _
ByVal uFlags As System.UInt32) As IntPtr
    End Function

Thanks,

Ron Repp

Wow; that was a lot easier than what I was trying to do, but I see that it is meant for a form.

I have to load an imagelist and equate it with files.

I'll play around and post back.

Thanks...a star for your troubles,
