Hi there,

I want to install a clean server (1 ATA CDROM, 1 SATA HD, 1 GB RAM) with Win2003 Server Std. (German Version)

BIOS settings are alright, HD and CDROM are found. After booting from CD, system hangs saying "Windows wird gestartet", right before screen should flicker and then you should be prompted to press enter to begin installation.
If I insert a Windows XP CD, it works fine beyond that point. But Win2003 not, neither Win2003 SBS nor Win2003 Std.

Any experiences about that?

Thanks in advance!

Doesnt the Bios have to be in German as well? Unless it is a multilang developer cd..

It is a desktop PC?
I was not able to install Windows Server 2003 onto one of our HP Compaq D530C's. (for a temporary test server.)
2000 worked though.

I phoned tech-support... "server products are not supported" they said.

@nickpark: I think it's a problme like that. The configuration is more "desktop" than "server" (only one GBit-LAN-Port, no raid, but 1 GB RAM and a 160 GB HD)

I asked MSI-Support (it's a MSI 865 PE- Neo2 PFISR), wait what they tell me...

It was a hardware problem with cdrom drive. I tried an external USB-CDROM and it worked.

Thank you all guys.
