System->Network ID->Domain Can't find it's domain

I'm still trying to add clients to a Windows 2000 Server. I have a win2k pro box hooked up and per some instructions I found on the internet I'm trying to change the "Member of" domain to the domain of the server machine. The LAN connection seems to be okay, but it can't find the domain. I'm correct in entering MY_ORG.com, where my machine is MY_MACHINE.MY_ORG.com? Any ideas?
