I got the following request today from one of our field engineers:
-------------
We have a Mini Vax/VMS version 5.5 in our office. It was working fine, we need to shutdown it and after this when i tried to boot it with
>>boot dua0: command
Asks date and time and than it gives below message and hangs
%SYSTEM-I-MOUNTVER, DUA0: IS OFFLINE. MOUNT VERIFICATION IN PROGRESS.
If I write
>>boot
it shows available devices
DUA0 (RA82)
other disk an tape device
----------
It appears that it is unable to mount the system disk when they try to reboot the system. I've looked for info on the MOUNT VERIFICATION bit and found some tips. Unfortunately, they all seem to refer to mount issues after the system boots. I've also checked his boot command and it appears to be valid.
How do we get the disk to mount so that the boot process can proceed?
Thanks in advance,
Bryan
