I have been having numerous problems with a particular xp machine. I am on a network with a 2000 server. I have one other xp machine and several me machines. After I configure my settings the machine will run fine for a couple of days and then suddenly get extremely slow opening programs both on the network and locally. I have 5142 mb ram and a 2.0 ghz processor so that shouldn't be the problem. Any ideas?

First, you have to check that all the installed programs in your PC are windows XP compatible.
Then, you must install Tweak UI for windows XP and perform the swap file, hard disk access and memory optimization included in the tweak. Also, allow the ultra DMA access.
Windows XP needed to be tweaked for PC like yours, with plenty of hardware resources.
