System crashes frequently on Internet access 3

Windows 98, AMD 800 MHz. System works local programs fine, but bombs out quickly on Internet access or on email. Even bombs out on accessing Eudora with Internet not accessed.

My first thought is to run an anti-virus...many different viruses cause trouble with browsers and email progs, specifically! Mudskipper

Hope you are not using AOL! If so, get another ISP. Ihad all kinds of problems with AOL. Illegal operations, boot offs, and system freezes. I hardly ever have trouble with MSN.

I agree with Mudskipper. Running your antivirus with updated definitions would be the place to start. I would set it to scan " All Files".
