Anyone have troubles installing SCE 2007 on Windows 7 clients?
Im getting critical health state on the 6 machines we have deployed with SCE and win 7.

Any tips on making them all happy campers?

Have you seen this site, a lot of it relates to the Beta 2010 version, but there are some details about the 2007 version and Windows 7. What might be interesting is the details of the logging that is available in 2010, and therefor perhaps available to you in 2007.

There is mention of 2007 and SP1 and also this, plus more.

"System Center Essentials 2007 SP1 supports managing computers running either the Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems. However, the following steps are required to enable management:

1. Upgrade the System Center Essentials 2007 SP1 Server to WSUS 3.0 SP2. For instructions on how to download WSUS 3.0 SP2 and the improvements in WSUS 3.0 SP2, please see
2. For Windows 7, download the Windows Client 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7 Operating System management packs for Operations Manager 2007 and import it into System Center Essentials 2007 SP1."
