We have started buying new PC’s with Windows XP Professional and we will be controlling each PC with an administrator profile and user profile. The PC’s will be connected to our LAN and will be using our existing file server.
I used the administrator profile to load our virus protection software and added a Maxtor external hard drive to back up our in-house imaging system without problems. Everything works great when you sign onto the PC as an administrator but when I sign on as a user, I cannot use or manage the external hard drive or download the latest virus signature file.
What do I need to change for the user and how do I control what domain server will be used..
