I'm getting a minor alarm on my SYS75 Tape. After reviewing the books it says "replace tape soon". I have replaced the tape, done test tape, save trans, clear err, and all seems to work fine. I can't get rid of the alarm though. Any ideas.

does "test alarm long" bring you any results?

As far as I can tell, I have full maint permissions but do not see a command for "test alarm". It's a system 75n R1v1. -CL

you can use command "test tape long" to scan the tape and gernic is good or bad

As I've said, I've done a test tape long, etc, etc. After reviewing some old elmo docs, it looks like a 75 could take 48 hours to clear an alarm after an issue is resolved with no way to manually clear it. I'll wait 48 and let you know. -CL

if you want clear error msg , you can try the command "reset system 1" all error may erase

Try Test tape long clear, if you do not use the clear command it will not resolve the alarm.

I'ts resolved. It just took 48 hours like the book said. There is no "clear" option for a test tape on a 75. I did not want reset the system especially not knowing if I had a bad tape. -CL
