I am using Sysprep and Ghost to image all the XP Pro workstations on our peer to peer LAN.

Everything is working great but I want to keep local users desktop icons set. It keeps the users and permissions and everything when it ghost but I keep losing my icons.

I have even tried copying the icons into the default users desktop folder but no luck

Anyone know the trick?

TIA

I have no idea what the following does but you can try it and eliminate it as a possible fix.

Open Display Properties window. Click on Desktop tab/ Customize Desktop /Web. There is a check box there for Lock Desktop Items. The Help and Support program states about this option. "Specifies whether Web content windows or items that you have placed on your desktop are locked in place and can’t be moved. Select the check box to lock Web content in place. Clear the check box if you want to be able to move Web content".
