The site I inherited last year carried a mass of junk files, locally and on the server. At the time it didn't matter because we were well within our host server's usage limit. Now, however, with increasingly sophisticated stuff on the site I need to clean up the mess. Is there a way to do this QUICKLY? I realise I could check each file but that would take forever. I am tempted to back up the local site then delete it. Then rebuild the local site by downloading all our active pages from the server, including dependant files, which should grab all the pictures. When that is done, and verified, uploading the site again to a temporary directory, switching folder names, then deleting the old site. (I guess I'll have to ask for a temporary space increase...) Does that sound sensible, or is there a better way?

You could download all the files from your server, put them in a new folder then in Dreamweaver define a new site (new_folder) now all you have to do is CHECK LINKS SITEWIDE

You'll know which file is used and which isn't.

Hope it'll help ;-) Have Fun...
