Hi all,

i have been posed a question at work. I need to create and synchronize two public folders that reside on the same server but cant seem to find any information on how i could perform this. I am no expert with Exchange but really need to figure out and create a proposal on how this can be achieved.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could you clarify what you are trying to do? As far as I can tell - you want to have 2 different Public Folders, and you want them synchronized - meaning if you delete, modify or add to/from anything in either folder, they will synchronoze with each other so they are effectively "mirrors" of each other? What about conflicts? For example - the same sync'd file exists in both folders - User A modifies the file on Folder "A" and adds a bunch of data. User B deletes the same file in Folder "B"...next time the sync comes around - who wins?

I'm just not sure what you are trying to accomplish.

Hi FatBoy,

You understanding is quite close, we do want to create mirrors of the same public folders but we will place some restrictions on the flow of the synchronisation with regards to additions and deletions, but those complications can be looked at after, we just need to understand the concept of synchronising these two folders within exchange at this time.

Any help would be great.

As far as I can tell - and I am definitely not a Public Folder guru - is that Public Folder sync is intended to work across multiple servers in the same org - so that all users see the Public Folder and data on their own respective servers - not to sync the same data between two completely different folders on the same server.

I'm re-reading my post and it's a little cryptic but I'm not too sure how to say it better.
