I have a dell desktop and a sony laptop. Both are running XP Pro, SP1. What I need to do is when I go travelling with laptop, to be able to synch with desktop before i go, stuff like Outlook, Quicken data files, et.c... What is the best way to do this? Laplink? Or do I need an exchange server environment for it?
Thanks

Make a small LAN with a crossover Cat5 cable between the two boxes.

You can either copy the files over the LAN, or use the Briefcase service.
