I wasn't sure if I should have started a separate thread for this. I've moved all my connections from my G650's to replacement G450 Gateways and will be shutting down and removing the PN. When attempting to remove a DS1 from CM it flagged an error that it was being used as a syncronization source. I know how to remove these, but do I now need to create sync sources to the Media-Gateway where the E1's were moved into? I read about Sync over IP, but wasn't sure if that part applied to me. I'm still using digital E1's that are present in both my replacement G450's.

I thought I read it has to be done in CM if the release is newer than 5.2.

Great, that was a great video. For the sync over IP portion I'm still unclear if that applies to me. Each of these MG's have DS1 Media Modules in them, so wasn't sure if MG1 and MG2 have to clock off of one another. I thought that was if there were no DS1's present where it needed a master source.

Since both your gateways will have active DS1's (and of course these are connecting to the PSTN and not an adjunct application server) you will set the ds1 sync source on each one. If you have a gateway without a ds1 you would then use IP-SYNC for timing.
