Is there anyway Symposium can write to a database and How?

Symposium's backend is a Sybase database. If you know anything about Sybase, you can export all the raw Symposium data to your own database for reporting or whatever else you need it for. Our company does it on a nightly basis through an automated routine. Unfortunately, I have no idea how it works since it's not part of my job.

You can write to a log file via a script. You can also have Symposium access an external database via host connectivity.

As far as writing to an external database, check out database integration wizard in 4.2 and 5.0
