Hi all,
We recently upgraded our Exchange servers from SMSME 4.5.4 to 4.6.1. At the same time we also uninstalled SAV client 8 and installed SAV client 9.
The problem we are having is that on the main Active mail server with the stores (7 stores at 350 gigs in total) slows down Outlook clients. Clients are complaining of slowness and they have to restart their Outlook.
To date I have decreased the VSAPI threads from 5 to 3, disabled all scans on virus def drop, SMTP, message body as well as Background scanning. This still maxed out the CPU.
So far the only thig I have been able to do is to disable Auto-Protect and turn off the MSMSE service.
3 Gigs of physical memory, dual processors (1 Gig), no hyperthreading, Windows 2000 sp4 and Exchange 2000.
Anyone encountered this issue before??
