THere are some restrictions on Ghost.
It is a DOS utility thus doesn't recognise NTFS.
ASsuming you use a partitioned main disc there must be at least one FAT32 chunk to save images.
The active (XP) partition can be NTFS.
If you are happy to save partitions then NTFS is OK but very waseful on file space.
You will also need a boot disk with the ghost on it.
This can be made through any DOS and Ghost dropped on or the ghoist utility. There is no way of getting simple boot disks out of XP just sets of recovery disks.
If you are getting the c0000218 hive error then a ghost is essential to head off a re-install. AS you need to go to DOS to create a ghost it may already be too late as the hive error is created on XP shut down.
Yes,
That is just a matter of selecting the different drives.. you just need to make sure which is the target and which is the source... other than that, it's a walk in the park... debonairOne
