Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to configure the Symantec firewall/vpn 200 to allow pptp (vpn)pass thru, originating from the internet and authenticating on an internal server. It would appear that this can be configured with access filters but I am getting conflicting stories

Thanks for your help in advance (has anyone already done this)

I haven't worked with the 200, nor have I tried anything like you are wanting with my 200r, but I would think you should be able to set up a virtual server for all of the ports used by vpn traffic to your internal server. Of course doing this would likely disable the vpn portion of the 200 itself, providing the appliance allows you to do this at all.

Access filters aren't what you want. All they do is restrict outgoing traffic. They don't do anything to incoming.

Just put the internal IP address of your RRAS server as the PPTP virtual server address, and the gateway of the RRAS server to be your Symantec appliance, obviously you need to enable RRAS, then the job is done.
