My site has a PRI with a block of DIDs. CLID works great and shows only the MTN for the property on outbound calls. However, CLID on calls from the fax line is also showing the properties MTN. In form 54 Calling Party Number, the CPN associated with the Fax extension is the correct DID. What am I missing that is preventing the CLID of this extension from appearing on outbound calls?

Thanks

the route that the fax goes out does it have a modified digit table form 22 with "CPN" to Yes

are you sure that the trunk provider is not providing the number?

Form 22 will also need something like *4*6*4 inserted

My 2 Bits

The Caller ID is meaningless in a fax call. The faxes embed their caller ID in the FAX via a Banner programmed in the fax itself.

The caller ID is only useful if someone sends a fax to a wrong number where a person can read the caller ID.

Having that caller ID be the fax number is useless as this helps no one. If however the caller ID is the MTN. The person receiving the fax at the wrong number can at least call you and let you know you dun goofed.

*4*6*4 are inserted in form 22. They site confirmed that their fax machine does have the correct number programmed in it.
