SX200 call logging

Is the SX200 capable of logging calls between handsets? I have a client with a hotel. They have 130 sets, and are receiving phantom calls at night on a random basis, one ring then hang up. Very difficult to track down.

Make sure your voicemail ports do not have automatic line turned on. COS option 604 I believe.

No, the 200 does not log internal calls.

If you know of a room that gets called often, forward it to the console where you have a display to see the calling party.

If the site has auto-attendant at night, and it allows calls to rooms, you might want turn off access to rooms. Actually it is best practice not to allow calls to rooms ever form auto-att. There are too many ways it can put the guests at risk.

Thank you, I will look into these options. This hotel has been battling this, on and off for a few years. It has started up again, for some reason mostly at night. Usually one ring then disconnect.

I had this same problem. kwbMitel provided the same solution and it worked for me. No more phantom calls.

we have found the issue for now. A cabin in the woods had a damaged underground cable causing static on the line. Calls are answered 24/7 by a receptionist. Can we turn room to room calling off? I think with cell phones there would be very little us of this and would permanently eliminate the issue.

Yes, you can block room to room calls off via the 5540 IP console or 5340e subattendant. You may have to enable some options in the console or subattendant COS in order for blocking room to room calls to work.
