This question if for Mitelman. I have been reading through the Threads in this forum and he looks like the one man that can solve my problem (but anyone else feel free).

OK. SO...
The networking team has been performing a port scan on my SX-2000 PBX using a monitoring device called Spectrum. The only thing Spectrum does is send out a ping (actually multiple pings) to the main controller card and wait for a response.

For some reason, in one of my two MC's, at different times every night (these times do not coincide with any dir. sync's or activity sync's) I receive an Spectrum alarm that says device not ping-able and then it is quickly cleared.

On of the networking guys asked the question - what is the MC interface is set, at full or half duplex? Although I was not able to answer the question I fail to see why that would matter since only one of the 2 MC's is having this problem.

Please HELP

VPstryker, I have looked through all the docs and there is nothing about full or half duplex for the port. Why does it matter to them anyways? Also what is the frequency of the pings they are sending? If you get on failure does it trigger the alarm? If they are checking every minute or so get them to change the freqency to every 5 and set the threshold higher so it looks for multiple failures be fire triggering an alarm. Also if the MCC is not affecting day to day operations I wouldn't see any reason for this to be faulty. I guess if it is conastantly the same card, I would try and swap the ethernets ports to see it the problem stays or if it moves to the other card to prove wether there is a problem with the network.

So that is all I have for now. I will try and ask one of the guys at the shop tomorrow to see whether he knows the half/full duplex thing.

So I talked to my coworker. 10meg half duplex according to tech support.
