I think this was something that Cisco did on 2 Catalyst platforms and then quickly decided to can the idea. The only 2 platforms that support multi VLAN port are the 2900XL and the 3500XL. If you want to put multiple VLANs on a single port in any other platform you must use VLAN trunking, either 802.1q or ISL.
To be honest with most network now being Layer-3 (and IP) anyway there is no real nead for this technology anymore. There was never any bandwidth saving and it was a 'bodge' of a solution if you had to use it anyway.
