Hi,

I am holding email account on different sites. Everytime I need to access another email account, I have to switch ID or location. Is there anyway to merge the 2 ID files so that I do not need to switch location/ID for reading either email account. thx in advance

regards

To read other accounts from one ID file. Simply add the ID name to the ACL of the other accounts you wish to read.

This is only a problem when sending from these other accounts. If the ID name is differnet from the account name. the 'sent from' field on the mail with have the current ID name. which may not match the account. Also, location doc can only specify one server as home server and one internet mail address.

You would still need to switch between locations for some things, but you could read/edit/ all of your accounts

griffman,

I have added the ID to the ACL. But when I try to open the mail, it complains that

Server's Error : The server's address book does not contain any cross certificate capable to authenticate you.

I am still not able to open the mail for other account.

I think This is a server access fault, not a problem opening the specific mail database.

If Your User ID and Home/mail server (in location doc) belong to one domain, and you are accessing another. You need to cross certify so that you are trusted by the server. Basically you are moving between domains and one does not trust the other, or does not trust your ID.

you will need to

cross certify the ID file allowing it to be trusted to access the domain/server. You will need to add the domain certifier to your ID file.

or alternativly

You could add cross certifiers to your NAB, allowing the domains/servers to trust each other.

Check in the directory under server > Certificates. These have to be setup manaually in the Directory to allow cross certification. You must also make sure it is done on the NAB for both domains.

I hope this helps.

Hi giffman,

I am just an ordinary user. I have no access to the server admin. Dun think the different companies allow the cross-certification policy.

Looks like I still have to live with the switching of location.

Thanks for ur advice.

Regards.
