Switching to Softphone - what handset/headset ?

I'm thinking of switching a couple of users over from using a deskphone to using a softphone.

I would like to know what you would give them (or gave them...) to make a call - a pc-like headset using the audio ports on the PC or maybe a 'handset' using the USB ?

Any experience/hint/tips appreciated,

Once you go to softphone and take away the phones you'll get into alot of personal preferences for headsets. everybody likes something different. I use mainly the plantronics universal wireless headset, it can be worn over the head or hook around the ear like a blue tooth. I also have a few users using earbuds connected to their PC audio jack. I also have a few users using the Plantronics USB headset.
I have a few options for them they can pick from.
