Hi:

Can someone recommend a multilayered switch that can support at least 6 100base-fx and 12 100base-tx?
Thanks!

A ready prepared switch does not exist.

Or a combo of 2 seperate switch.
- Catalyst 3550 24 FX SMI (24 x FX with MTRJ connectors)
- Catalyst 3550 12T (10 1000Base-T, two GBIC slots WS-G5483) or Catalyst 3550 12G (10 x GBIC WS-G5483 and 2 1000Base-T)

Or Catalyst 4000 or 6000, and choose the different modules - and spending lots and lots of $$$$. But very nice equipment.

The 4500s with the appropriate line cards will supports your needs. The next model up is the 6500 with may be an overkill.

Go with 3750's , 3550's have already been announced as end of sale , life.

For the Catalyst 3750 there are no 100Base-FX sfp's available. Very nice switches though!

not entirely correct, there is one: Catalyst 3750-24FS, 24 100Base-FX ports. Replacement of the 3550-24-FX
