Been having a little issue trying to hit my switch remotely. When I dial into the SEB, I am able to go transparent and hit the designated port, but when I goto LOG in I get nothing, There was a point last week when I was running some reports while dialed in and lost the connection, since then Nothing....Thanks in advance.

seb's (older versions) had a habit of that and usually required a cold restart.. haven't had that happen in a while but i am usually on site

Cold restart....? That would be hitting the reset button on it? no? As for being on site..I am but by having dual access it allows me to do two things at once. Oh and the SEB is a Crytical. UGH! it would have anything to do with the tty port would it?

Any takers..I restarted the SEB and what a surprise the batteries are dead too. When it came back up I still can't get in..."anyone...?" Thanks

did you stat the tty in 37. Once in a while our tty's get flaky. Try outting it and rebuilding.

i still say, have someone on site power cycle.. it could be a port but 95 percent of the port problems i've worked on were not hit and miss, they were doa or perfect, very seldom had one that worked part time... older sebs were bad about that, if someone gets out without crtl]A, they loved to never connect again.. i usually perfer a us robotics as well as a seb on switches..

I have an seb for my vendor to have remote access, but I also have a modem like John mentioned for myself to gain access. I have it connected directly to one of the cores, this way even if a vendor is in my switch looking at an alarm, I can boot them to do what I need to do.
Older SEB's are touchy if they are not exited out correctly.

Also try to toggle between "LON" and "LOF" - line mode on and off/ In other words at the ">" prompt, type LOF and press enter - then see if it changes the situation

AAAAAAAAAA! This is driving me insane...I tried the LOF and LON that didnt work since all I get is the sexy blinking cursor after I connect to the SEB. I do remember seeing someone disconnect the cable in the back of the terminal and direct connect through there ultimately my goal is to be able to data capture information from the switch is anyone familiar with what I'm speaking of? Would I need a null modem to make that work?

GOT IT ! ! ! The port was disabled Thanks for all the HElp!!!

I think you owe Dougo123 a star since he suggested that 2 days ago!!!!!!! Statting the TTY would have shown you that right away!

your right! and John you get a star for making sure I don't act like a manager. Sorry and thanks again!
