So have customer with 6.1XC Maintenance release taking over for existing system.
Decided wanted to use SWCA as think they work well.
Assigned all phones 5 SWCA keys.
Have
Auto Assign Call Hold set to N.
Invoked by Hold set to N.

However, when someone picks up call from SWCA key. The key shows busy. Dialed into another customer who has 7.1 and it releases the key once the call is picked up. Also gives different options for when call is held by SWCA. Also same with BCM 400 we've used in past.

Is that just the way it is for this release? Or is there some setting I'm missing. Would like that SWCA park to become available once someone picks up call. I think the answer is it is held for duration of call, but hoping maybe I'm missing something.

Yes, that is just the way it is for 6.0 through 6.1 MR.

7.0 introduced several enhancements to the SWCA feature, such as the ability to choose if a call is assigned to a SWCA key for the duration of the call or only while it is parked.

It is not that simple. After the call has been retrieved, it remains assigned to the SWCA key until:

[ul]
[li]the call is released[/li]
[li]the call is put on hold[/li]
[li]the call is camped, parked or transferred[/li]
[/ul]

Also, if a call is parked on a SWCA key and is not retrieved before the park timeout, the call unassigns from the SWCA key.

Your only hope would be to upgrade to 7.0 or 7.1.

Multimedium. Thanks for response. You answered my questions perfectly.
