I have a Compaq Proliant DL580 server I bought from a bank that was clearing out their old servers. It has x4 P-III Xeons, 4 HD's (19GB each, RAID 0+1). I'm just looking for some thoughts or experience on the possibility of doing something similar to the following:

I want to serve movies & music (DIVX/AVI/VOB) across the network to the XBox 360 so we can watch them on the HDTV. The setup is a little strange though:

We have:
[li]AMD-850MHz box with two 250GB hard drives. It holds all the media [/li]
[li]Compaq Proliant DL580 with good proc power and 4 NICs. It will be NIC-teamed to the Internet (double bandwidth). It does not store any media. The RAID setup is for OS redunancy only.[/li]
[li]XBox 360 'core' system with NIC[/li]

How can I deliver the media on the AMD box to the 360? Can I 'serve' it using the Proliant as a "Windows Media Server"(which would pull from the AMD)? Or will I need the Media Extender addon for the 360? Or can I simply direct the 360 to a folder on the AMD?

I really appreciate any thoughts or experience you may have had with this sort of thing. I apologize if it doesn't belong in this forum.
