svchost and esent keep shuting down

i have a server that is a perimiter gateway. so far i have had this problem
for quite a while, but the problem ONLY occours on this os. it doens't do
this on xp...

i get the error:

source : esent

event id : 101

svchost (928) The database engine stopped.

if i unplug and replug the rj-45, it comes right back online for a couple of
minutes with:

source: esent

event id : 100

svchost (928) The database engine 5.02.3790.0000 started.

then, i get the same error...

what's going on here?
