This is probably a simple question, but after I do a shutdown -r on an AIX RS6000, I get the following message on my terminal

Suspending Desktop Login....

Press [Enter] for a login prompt

Log in. Desktop Login will resume shortly after you logout.

This scrolls continually without end.

If I press Enter it bring me to the login prompt but if I do not login it goes back to the scrolling screen and not just the login prompt.

How do I get just the login screen to appear without performing a complete shutdown?

Do you have a graphic's card installed on your server?

Not that I am aware of.
