I'm just configuring an SUS server, and looking at all the patches and updates it has fetched. There are quite a lot - many of them not applicable to any of our machines.

For example it has downloaded 500 or so updates to windows 2003 servers, which we have none of!

Is there any way to specify only to download updates to windows 2000/servers & XP platforms only. And can I remove these irrelevant downloads?

We use SUS here, I have never found any real options when it comes to selecting Operating Systems to download for.

The new release of SUS is being Beta Tested at the moment, hopefully the new version will be more configurable.

Fraid Not.

I believe it will download all Win2k, WinXP and Win2k2 patches.

As Grenage said, the beta is out and I believe that has the options.

Steve.

Yeah... My SUS server downloads them all, and I just approve of the Win2k and XP patches.
