Is anyone aware of what is required to be backed up for SurfControl to be successfully restored? We are running backups of the entire SurfControl tree (and in truth, the entire server), but the backup is failing due to numerous errors saying "Failed to open file D:\SurfControl Data\Work\<UID>.dir\<filename> - The system cannot find the file specified".
I assume I can safely NOT backup this "work" directory; but I'd like confirmation of this from someone who is aware of the application, and the ramifications (if any) of not having it backed up.
We are getting similar errors out of the D:\SurfControl Data\Anti-Spam Agent\<UID>.dir\ folders, and D:\SurfControl Data\Anti-Spam Agent - DFP\<UID>.dir\ folders.
Any help with this product appreciated.
PS - sorry if this isn't the right forum; it was the best match I could find given a lack of "SurfControl" or "web filtering" forums (that I could find at least).
The dumber they think you are, the more surprised they'll be when you kill them!
