I'm fairly new to Crystal.

I have a report with 5+ subreports. I would like to suppress the subreport entirely if it does not have records to print.

Currently when I print the report the text field titles from the sub reports print even though the select statement in the subreport returned 0 records. I tried "Suppress Blank Section" in both the subreport sections the section of the main report that the subreport is called from, but this didn't help.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Jim

You can select your subreport on the main report and then right click. Select Format Subreport. Under to 'Common' Tab there is 'Supress'. There is a spot to enter a formula to selectivly supress the subreport.
LindaC
lcastner@co.orange.ny.us

I am familiar with the Suppress options, but what should the formula do/compare/calculate?

Thanks
Jim

Did you ever get a response to this? Or have you figured this out? I am trying to do the same thing.

Thank you,
Jennifer

I worked around it.

I put each subreport in it's own section in the main report. Then removed the report/page titles from the subreports, just leaving the data. In the main report I checked the suppress blank section option. When the subreport returns zero records, nothing is printed.

good luck,
jim
