We will be converting our Crystal Reports from 8.5 to 9.0.
A few of our reports have subreport that pass values but are shrunk down and do not display any data. I am trying to eliminate to small section in the main report taken up by the subreport. I was hoping the "Suppress Blank Subreport" and "Suppress Blank Section" options would do the trick but it is not working. The subreport contains a formula of type numeric which is suppressed and the subreport section that contains the numeric formula is also suppressed. I guess my question is "what constitutes a blank subreport"?

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

In CR XI (which I'm guessing might behave the same way as 9.0), if a subreport has a null field in an unsuppressed detail section, it will still appear. The detail section must be conditionally suppressed with:

isnull({table.field})

...for the subreport to be suppressed as blank. All sections of the subreport must be suppressed in order for the suppress if blank option to work (assuming you are also formatting the main report section to "suppress blank sections").

lbass,

Thanks for your response. By suppressing all sections of the subreport, selecting "suppress blank subreport", and selecting "suppress blank section" all of the blank sections in my main report that contained the blank subreport have disappeared from the output.
A star for you.
