Is it ok to have both DB2 & Oracle installed on AIX on a single RS/6000 or pSeries server?
Technical it seems to be ok as they are just 2 software application. But does anyone has actual experience with that, or is that any technical concerns that should be take note of with such installations?

Customer is thinking of providing data cneter services, and there might be requirements to have different DB products installed on a single AIX system.

Appreciate if anyone could shed spome lights on this.
Thank you.

I currently manage some AIX servers using multiple databases - not DB2/Oracle - but there are no problems. Just make sure that yu optimise disk space, use mirroring not RAID-5 and put them in seperate VG areas.

Cheers,
