What is SuperLAT software? Googled it but just came up with a lot of Console output listings.

I would guess it's what allows for connections to a C.I. bus, which is DECNET. Local Area Transport---it allows a VAX tabletop/dummy terminal to be connected to a DEC server/VAX server over a C.I. bus, and it is layer 4. It does not have layer 2 capabilities, so it has to be bridged. You remember Digital, right? MOP (another thing that SuperLAT probably does). PDP-II? That's what the original Space Wars (later called Asteroids) was programmed on. Those date to 1971 or so. Microvax II---1976. Fixed one about 6 months ago, power supply said 1976. Remember the hard drive I showed you, Billy, and the 2KB memory line card, all ICU's?
Wait---LAT may be ethernet...I know it's a Digital proprietary protocol...

Looks like a protocol that lets Windows systems share peripherals. Seems deprecated judging by the amount of Google results and the age of the Merdian info page but I could be wrong. I went ahead and posted in another forum so hopefully will be able to find some info for ya Bill.

By the way, how was the fishing trip?

No---nothing you have to worry about. PC's use tcp/ip, DEC machines once upon a time used DECNET, with LAT as the protocol. Billy, I showed you the hubs for a CI bus---those big blue cables that are 112 miles long! The hub stations had one xmit and one rcv for each bus. people mostly clustered VMS servers together and used LAT to connect dummies to the server (mainframe).
