In meridan mail is it possible for an admin person to logon to a customer v-mail without them knowing the password and delete voicemails. Basically is their admin password that can allow the telecom tech to snoop around other customer voicemail boxes with out resetting passwords or superpassword that will allow tech to listen to a mailbox.

from the mermail i could from the term but the user would still know the msg had been read... from a set no.. and from the cp, i can't do it from the switch unless i want to restore a backup to a standby server... there are ways to do anything but that's a big step... a tech can with enough $, an enduser can not

I agree very unethical. I used to manage this site but due to cutbacks they gave task to a regular secretary staff onsite and now unethical problems appear. I guess I will get to maintain that system again. We are always the bad guys or overpaid. I guess the brainiacs who decided "we can get any body in the office to do that job." whats the worse that can happen. Just found out the importance of IT again.

YOU CAN CHANGE TO AUTO LOGIN THEN BACK, BUT ONCE YOU READ THEM THEY ARE OLD MESSAGES

What about changing the COS and giving it Administrative rights. Does that allow you to go into other boxes?

Now couldn't you change it to auto login, listen to message and then press 4 to go back to message, and then the command to keep message as new and log out? Haven't done it yet, but now I am curious.

As long their are creative customers they seem to find new ways to make you wonder.

plus in cp after you set it to autolog, you have to log in and turn make auto log active on the phone.. i mermail i could do that and listen to saved msgs and then turn it off.. and as for as admin rights... no that will not give you access to locked mb's.. only way i could think of would be to use the backup tape to load a second box, reset the pass and check any you want to.. tomorrow, do the same thing.. the msg stays in the real cp as new.. on the clone, you can listen to any msg that was on the tape when you did the backup

Are you using anything for a threat recorder, maybe an ALGO VOX BOX? If so, make a bunch block and tap the TN and set up a port on an ALGO or a DtoA converter and wave file to PC

Way to much effort for staff in question to be able to do. I think all the info you guys provided. Made the conclusion clear that IT did not have the means availble to effect staff voicemail without the vmail account knowing. I did mention to Directors the time it would take to be underhanded. by the person in question is not possible. Thanks. I did check a log of mail recorded and did not find any thing close to the date and time the vmail was in question. I think someone office staff memeber used it as a excuse that IT must have deleted vmail and blamed IT for thir shortcoming.

not IT, they never make mistakes... your right, it was deleted via someone with a password or not sent.. if this is a problem build a class that keeps a copy of sent msgs
