I can't get a sunblade to install from cdrom. I've tried various install CD's and devalias paths but still can't get it to boot. Here's the cdrom path from show-devs at the OpenBoot Prom

/pci@1f,0/ide@d/cdrom

probe-ide gives the cdrom as slave on IDE2. So my question is, is this devalias correct:

cdrom /pci@1f,0/ide@d/cdrom@3,0:f

I've also tried:

cdrom1 /pci@1f,0/ide@d/cdrom@0,0:f
cdrom2 /pci@1f,0/ide@d/cdrom@1,0:f
cdrom3 /pci@1f,0/ide@d/cdrom@2,0:f

I think I've tried all combinations but maybe I missed something here and I also tried another cdrom but to no avail.

1)what Solaris Version do you try to boot?
sometimes newer hardware needs speclial OS Versions eg. "Solaris 8 10/00"
-> doublecheck, whether you need newer OS

2)reset OBP to factory defaults by powerdown the Blade press STOP-N ob the Sun Keyboard and switch on the power switch
OBP writes something like "L1-N pressed, resetting to factory defaults" -> release STOP-N
try another
ok boot cdrom
