Summary field

In CR 9, I just tried to insert a summary field by clicking on a currency field in the detail section and clicking on the insert summary icon.
The summary field is being created but is not being located in the report.
I can create a variable and define it by double clicking on the summary field created by Crystal and then locate it in the report.
What's going on? I tested and if I create a new report, the summary function works fine.....but this is a report that I have upgraded from version 8.

Hmmmm, sounds like CR might be confused...

Do you have more than one group footer section (assuming that the aggregate is at a group level)? Perhaps there's a gh A which is too small and you're looking at GH B?

The other alternative to creating a formula and placing the aggregate in the formula would be to create a Running Total.

I have 2 group footer sections. Also, group 1, is split into 1a through 1g. All of the group footers are large enough to display the field.
I guess it is confused by the multiple footer choices.
Anyway, placing the aggregate into a formula and placing the formula where I want it did work.
I was just to curious if anyone else had run into this.
