Our provider is wanting us to move from old equipment to a new shelf they are installing at our site. It should be a simple "move the cable" for our PRI's but I'm a newbie and am thinking that I'll need to do some busy-rel commands in the switch.

I have two trunk groups, one with 6 PRI's and one with 2 PRI's.

Should I perform a BUSY DS1 xxxxx (when Telco is ready to move service), then move the cable over to the new shelf and then release it? Or remove the board from the trunk group?

Thanks!

you could do a busy move the cable and release. But I would just have them move the PRI to the new shelf. You will see it go down. Then move the cable, you should see the PRI come up. Then make a test call on that PRI. Do it one at a time and you should have no problem.

phoneguy55 has you in the right direction. This could be a very easy move or a complete nightmare. The more you put on your provider the better this will go. Also go through all of your circuits and match them up with the port, shelf, slot, now so when you need to move them over you can be sure you move the right ones to the right place.

Should you make this move and your D signaling not come back up within a reasonable amount of time, you will need to do a "reset system 4" to unhose your system.

Yes been there and done that. 3 days later a the reset and it finally worked.
