Succession 3.0 software

We are in the process of doing and EPE to IPE conversion on our Option 81 C switch and then upgrading from Release 23 to Succession 3 software. If you anyone went through the same conversion/upgrade, could you please share experiences or problems you have encountered during the upgrade. Are there major differences between Release 25 admin commands (LD XX)and Succession 3 commands? Appreciate any feedback on this. Thanks

Well soon I will be doing the same and hope every thing will go fine. There are some new prompts in Rls 3 but any one working on meridian system should not face any difficulty.

As far as I could see, there is no difference in any LD commands. The one difference is that RLS 3 Sucession ISM paramenters are totaly different. Instead of have TN limits as before, you know have to purchase the number of SETS you will have. ie If you purchase a new Option 11C with 2 digital cards (NT8D02)and one analog card (NT8D09), the ISM paramenters come with 2500 TNs with only 32 Digital phones and 16 analog phones. The ISM is sold in increments of 8 phones. This also applies to ITG trunk ports and IP phones. You can buy a 32 port ITG Trunk card but only get ISM paramenters for 24 ports. ie can only use 24 of the 32. For an upgrade, you recieve enough analog and digital ports to cover what you have at the present. Dont quote me on that because it depends on your vendor and how it was sold to you. NORTELs was of getting even I guess.

You will probably be asked if the system has a Signaling server. If not an IP switch just answer NO.
