Hi,

Is there an easy way to use Excel's Data/Subtotal function to sum certain columns and count other columns?

I've tried the following:
1. Run the subtotal fuction by summing the columns that need to be summed.
2. Run the subtotal function by counting the column that needs to be counted but unchecking the "Replace current subtotals" box.

This will give me the information that I need but on two seperate rows.

Any thoughts on keeping both the sums and counts on one row?

Thanks,

Mike

Why not use the SUBTOTAL function for your sum and Subtotal command for your count.

BTW, I believe you can use the subtotal command only once in a worksheet, you can't use it multiple times without removing previous values.

Problem resolved.

I added another column that was filled with 1's and included it within the items to sum.

But I would still like an answer to the previous question, for instance if I wanted to add an average, max, min, etc.

Thanks again,

Mike
