I have one report that has 17 subreports in it. The subreports are based on seperate databases. The main report shows the data for each subreport. I want to be able to go to the main report, select certain dates and the subreports send back the information based on the date selected by the main report. How do I do this?

Thanks,
John

Create a parameter in the main report then link that field with the date field in the sub reports. Mike

Right click on your sub report. Pick Change Subreport Links... Find your date field in the main report in the Container field(s)... box. Click on the ">" button to add it to the "Filed(s) to link to" box. Find the field you want to link in the sub report. (The Select Data..." dropdown at the bottom of the window.

I had problems when I allowed Muliple data values. It worked fine with single dates and ranges. I don't know if this is universal or just something I'm doing wrong. Most likely the latter. Mike

I tried that...and the subreport came back blank.
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Are there any other links to the sub report? Mike

What I did was create a blank report with no database links...then I imported subreports into the main report. There are no links that I can find. Is it possible to have the one main report pull information from the 17 databases even if the 17 databases have nothing in common IE link key or anything?

Thanks!

You can't link the sub reports to a only parameter. You would need something else to "anchor" them to the main report.
