Hello everybody:
I just created my first subreport. On my main, its accessing quite a huge file, close to 100k. I'm trying to print only records that has a corresponding detail records on my subreport. I inserted the subreport on my main with a link based on a common field. I set up my selection criteria on my subreport.

When I preview, it prints every records on my main with or without a corresponding detail record. How can I avoid printing them so that it will only show records with an equal subreport.

When you set up the link during subreport setup, does it implies "equal"? If not, how do I specify that condition?

Thank u in advance

If the subreport is displayed BEFORE the main report data, you can use a Shared Variable to return a value from which you could suppress data in the main report.

If it's AFTER the subreport, the Main report won't know anything about the subreport until it's already displayed it's data.

You may want to reverse who is the master, and who is the slave...
