hey guys whats up?

i have a report that is grouped each page by a CategoryID

a have a subreport that is linked child / master using CategoryID

in this subreport is a text box and a another subreport that is also
linked child / master using CategoryID

for some reason the when it prints out the subreport within the subreport always prints out twice.

i am at a loss as to what the problem could be.

anyone encountered anything like this before???

Thanks,
Mike

It 'prints out twice'? I'm not sure exactly what you mean by that. You see double sub reports in your main report? Or you are actually hitting a button to print the report off to your printer and you are getting two copies? Sorry, I just need a bit of clarification.

yeah you see double reports in the main report. but not of the first subreport, of the second subreport.

in the first subreport there is a text box, which only prints out once in the main report. therefore, i'm assuming that it is the subreport within the subreport that is printing out twice.

Okay, so you're running a form that has 3 parts. 1 Main, 1 sub, and 1 sub sub. And this 3rd Sub Sub is being displayed twice on Form View. You've gone in and checked your SubForm to make sure that you didn't add the SubForm twice accidentally while you were designing your forms?

yeah its only in there once. i double checked all that. i know its gotta be something stupid that will fix itself after i screw around with it for an hour!! i hate these kind of problems... i was hoping someone had enountered a similar problem before.

Hrmm.. Tried compacting your database? Or Repairing? That sounds fishy. Are you sure it's ont in there twice? Maybe it's just placed itself behind stuff. You could always go to your form's tab order and see if it shows up twice in there?

sorry its not a form this is a report we're dealing with...
maybe i'm being a little unclear, sorry!

i tried compacting and repairing the database, that didn't work. then i deleted the sub-sub-report and replaced it back in the sub-report, that didn't work.
i'm at a loss...

you think its possible it has something to do with the child/master relationship?

Oooooohh... OKay ... reports. Gotchya.

If you're seeing the SubReport twice then you may want to see how that subreport is setup. Is it running a loop of some sort that could cause the double output? I use subreports only when I have data that may or may not appear on the report. If the table value for my ID is empty, I see nothing, if the table value has 1 record for my ID, i see only 1... 2 I see two sub reps... check this out...
