subreport performance consideration 1

I have main report spread over 3000 pages by agent numbers. I added two subreports over agent number group header. the report start accessing database, reading subreport records every time I click next page. Is this normal due to subreport? is subreport only useful for a few page report? Please confirm

The subreports will execute every time there is a new group, assuming they are linked on the groupfield. If you want the subs to execute when you first run the report (not just when paging through it), add page N of M to the page footer. This will force the execution of all subreports when you run the report.
