Hi

My present network utilises a Windows 2003 Standard server called ABC. DHCP is used to allocate Ip addresses to clients. I use a Class C addressing scheme for my network 192.168.7.x. 255.255.255.0. I would like to create a
test network (lab) where I can test trust relationships between the two networks. The server I am using assigns to perform the test lab has been assigned a static IP of 192.168.8.x 255.255.254.0.

When I try to ping from test server to ABC, I receive the error Request timed out.

Would I have to change the IP address on my present LAN to the same subnet mask and if so what implications wouild that have on my present network.

Any thoughts and ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks

You have 2 unique networks. Use a router to route traffic between networks.

Changing your net mask will break things...
