I am having some strange problem(s) with numerous Windows 98 PC's. When the PC is rebooted, sometimes get an error, no domain server available to validate your password. With further inspection, I find that the PC is given a correct address from our DHCP server, but the subnet mask is 255.255.255.255. If I do a release all, then renew all, I can log in fine.

Any clues would be greatly apreciated!

Sounds like you have the dhcp set to give out addresses with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.255, probably on the mask / try changing that to the mask you would like to use instead and see if that helps. Just an idea.

Jeftech,
It is set up to give out the appropriate subnet mask of 255.0.0.0. When I release/renew, it gets the correct mask.
Thanks though.

Remove, then reboot and reload all NIC drivers. Files sound like they are hosed.
