I have a form with a subform attached to it. After I login to the database, it automatically pops this form. Everything looks fine, except that there are no records. What is throwing me off is that when I hit the design view, and then the form view, even if I don't make any changes, the records are all there. Anyone have an idea why this is? I've tried putting "me.requery" in the subforms load, open, and activate events.. but no luck. I've also put [subSales].requery in the main forms load and open event, but it's still not showing any records.

I've told the boss it was done, silly me, anyone care to give me a hand please? :)

cheers,

Michael

Hello spyridon

2 things to check

The child and master fields in the subform properties.

Are you opening the main form in data entry mode or as a new record? This would show no data in the subform.

Thanks

Thanks,

the data entry mode is set to no in the main form and in the subform; the master and child fields are left blank. The only thing else I can think of, is that I have a dlookup in one of the fields, and it is based off a query with a dlookup field in it.

I've taken the dlookup field out of the subform and it does the same thing... Maybe it's the query?

Hello spyridon

Re: "the master and child fields are left blank"

These linked fields should be explicitly stated.

The link between the main form and the subform is based on the linking of fields in both forms. The linked field should be in both forms (often then set to visible=false in the sub).

Thanks
