Subfolder rights

I have a parent folder with many subfolders underneath it.

Parent
Subfolder1
Subfolder2
Subfolder3
...

I want one group of users to have all rights to the parent folder and all rights to the subfolders underneath it.

I want another group of users to only have all rights to the subfolders underneath the partent folder, but I only want them to have read access to the parent folder (I don't want these users to be able to add new folders below the parent folder or be able to rename or delete existing subfolders...I only want them to be able to edit files and folders within the subfolders). Also, it would be nice if when I add more subfolders to the parent folder that they would have all rights to the subfolders I create.

If there were just a couple subfolders, I would normally create an admin group and give them all rights to the parent which would trickle down to all its subfolders.

Then I would make a user's group and give them just read access to the parent folder and then list each subfolder and give them all rights individually to each subfolder.

There are a ton of subfolders, however, so I'm wondering if there's another way?

That's how I've always handled this situation.

I would do this exactly as you say, create two groups:

Group 1 (Admin Group) - grant RWCEMF access at the parent folder level

Group 2 (Users Group) - grant RWCEMF access to all subfolders under the parent folder. This can be done en mass (well it can using NetWare Administrator) by selecting all of the subfolders then selecting RWCEMF for the rights so there is no need to do each individual subdirectory.

This would give you the rights you require.
